Instructions for use and dosage of generic Zithromax

This medicine comes in tablets that may be taken either during or between meals. The oral suspension is reconstituted using the measuring cup attached to the bottle. Graduated syringe allows precise adjustment of the dosage: the dose should be defined depending on the weight of the child as indicated on the syringe graduated in kg. Shake the bottle well before use.

Usual dosage for:

  • Adults: 2 tablets taken once a day for 3 days;
  • In the treatment of bronchitis: 2 tablets on the first day, then 1 tablet per day for 4 days.
  • Children: 1 dose daily for 3 days;
  • Children under 25 kg of weight: the dose is obtained by filling the syringe to the graduation mark indicating the weight of the child;
  • Children weighing 25 kg or more: the dose doesn’t change depending on the weight of the child: it’s always 1 syringe filled up to the mark “25 kg and over” taken once a day.

Last winter the bronchitis was so bad I felt I could literally cough my lungs out. Fortunately, Zithromax always helps. I take 6 250 mg pills during 5 days (take two on the first day) and I'm usually back to normal by day 3 but I always finish the course because that's what good girls do according to my doc :) There's only one thing to remember when you're on Zithro - always take it before a meal. I forgot to take it with food once, took it 2 hours after a meal and that was horrible. Worst stomach cramps I've ever had!
